Social Justice in the Junior School

The Social Justice committee is a leadership initiative in the Junior School, made up of seven or eight Year 6 students who are selected to be part of the team. A few recent initiatives include a Compassion in Action program, which encourages boys to choose kindness at all times, and fundraising for the charity Smile for Me which enables doctors to perform operations on children in the Philippines with deformities and cleft palates.

Another leadership team with a focus on Social Justice is the Junior School Environment Committee which involves the boys in activities like Earth Hour, the keeping of native bees and composting of organic waste in the Junior School.

As many boys as possible are involved in the projects of these two committees, ensuring a large number of students are aware of their social responsibilities and encouraged to help with any project they take on.
